The Nasarawa State Drugs and Supplies Management Agency was established and signed into law on the 13th of March, 2021.The Agency became operational in October 2021 following the appointment of its first General Manager, Pharm. Haruna Muhammad Wakili.
The Agency has been established to address the challenges associated with health commodities supplies at the facility level, which among other things include:
- Occasional out -of -stock of essential medicines in some health facilities.
- Wide disparity in price of medicines between facilities and within communities.
- Large scale circulation of fake, adulterated, substandard, and expired products in the general society and possibility of some finding their way into our facilities
To streamline health commodity supplies to ensure uninterrupted availability of high quality medicines devoid of multi-level supply chain hiccups, to guarantee affordability across the State.
To source, stock and distribute quality, affordable medicines and other health commodities to all health facilities of the State.

TTo ensure sustainable availability of quality pharmaceutical products and other health commodities in 636 health facilities in the State by May, 2023.
To make safe, quality and affordable essential medicines and other health commodities available in a sustainable manner in all 1201 health facilities of the state by April 2024 to achieve universal health coverage.
